Is a Vizsla perfect for you and your family?
It's already a given that Vizslas are a beautiful and sleek looking breed. But that should not be the reason to add one to your family. They were originally bred to be a hunting companion (i.e. lots and lots of running in the field), they are a very high-energy breed.
Vizslas are not your apartment size, designer kind of a dog. Vizlas love adventure and if you enjoy the great outdoors a Vizsla might be the right match for you. In addition, Vizslas are also very needy and love frequent cuddles with their human companions. Vizslas are often described as "Velcro Vizslas". Be warned, if you bring a Vizsla into your home you may never go to the bathroom alone again! With that evaluate how much you like your privacy....Vizslas are very high-energy dogs and are extremely smart but generally slower to mature. This means you will most likely end up with a puppy until they're closer to 4 years old. Like a fine wine, Vizslas get better with age! Vizslas are a very powerful, athletic that get daily zoomies. A happy Vizsla is one who's daily needs have been met with exercise, social and intellectual stimulation.. If you have young children in the house a Vizslas needs may be hard to obtain. I can't stress enough to please do your research.
